You need the volume-name of your local disk E. Sorry don't know right now where to find it but the volume-name is somewhere to be found.

The volume name of the drive is what shows up in explorer or My Computer as the name of the drive, I believe it is context sensitive and if it includes any _ in place of spaces they must be included too, heres one of mine (Disk_1Vol_1) is my C: drives Volume name. Where you would find a volume string in windows I don't know, maybe in the registry. Or I guess it would be one that shows up in the command interface that they show.

Why doesnt it boot!!! i get grub error 22.
I put it in all right and when the thing completes it reboot off the 2nd HDD and it gives me that error.
There isnt even a progress bar so it may bot be installed completely but the HDD is idle so it must be.
Google "grub error 22" and have a look around, It has something to do with the partition and could be a typo on your part when entering the data or may have something to do with Hd0 Hd1, Hd0 being where you want the partition to be (first boot drive) and it may be trying to go to Hd1. This is a big problem with the command line interface of open source software for newbee's, one tiny error in typing and it goes wrong. I remember seeing something about a program that would let you type stuff in note pad and copy and paste into the command line interface but for the life of me I can't remember where. You really have to check your self as you go along so you don't make any errors and if by any chance there is a typo in the tutorial good luck.
yea i figured it out. I put partition 1 when i ws supporto put partition 0 becuase it only had one. Curse those damn numbers. But now the website isnt working so i cant find the command line. Its not the website originally posted but another one i found. Fuck Fuck just my luck.
that's what you get for trying to run Mac OS X on a PCOriginally Posted by twisterX
seriously though....I don't understand the mentality
if you want a Mac, go buy a Mac
if it's just the GUI that you're after...
last I remember you can make Linux look like OS X, no?
and it's built to run on x86/64 architecture, OS X wasn't
fuck the mac. i want to see how os x functions and stuff like that, I tried linux and it held my attention for like 2 minutes before i got bored.
I just tried to install it 2 more times and get a +HFS error. Now im getting some iso and see if that works in the morning.
Need something to do with the bordness.
I've heard that Mac OS X actually runs faster on PC then it does on a Mac, so I can see a huge advantage to using it... Windows is buggy and resource hogging, and slow for the most part. It would be beneficial to use a faster more stable OS. However, that being said, I can't understand why anyone would prefer the GUI to what you can achieve with a program like stardock or windowblinds for a windows based OS.Originally Posted by fkdup74
