Well, this could be answered a number of ways. The old saying is "bad publicity is better than no publicity." Metallica hadn't released anything worth our money since the And Justice For All CD. I'm sure it was a calculated risk to get their name into mainstream media. They've been talked about everywhere. Hardly a day goes by where Metallica and Napster aren't named in the same sentence. So they strike up a lawsuit, and now their name is everywhere. You be the judge.
