    Someone linked to the infamous WTAW thread on another forum. I lurked for around a year before registering. I remember Artemis' avatar was Smith on fire from one of the Matrix sequels...

    That's how I found out too. I was on some torrent/invite forum(I think iTS was recruiting and that's what brought me to said site) before I really even knew what trackers were, and how they're treated like a commodity. But someone posted the WTAW thread that led me here. It wasn't until that thread that I found out that people were just climbing a ladder...

    Tracker levels and rarity seeking were a bunch of bullshit I don't miss, despite the unintentional humor provided. Same goes for community-oriented trackers, invite forums and anti-traders

    AudioGalaxy, Kazaa, Napster... who remembers those? Fortunately Gnutella still exists, and offers a comparable experience (I suggest using a spare computer and having a flamethrower ready).
