About six months later it finished all by itself and I celebrated by listening to it about a dozen times in a row.

TPS still exists, but there's nothing going on in there anymore. No idea about CFS, but their homepage only has a cryptic message, and they likely disappeared just like the vast majority of torrent forums from back in the day.
