May someone please tell me of a good long lasting router for me to buy?

The last two 802.11 B routers i got (Link befw11s4, and netgear mr814) seemed to experience hardware issues after nearly a year of use. I guess it could be because i leave my pc on almost 24/7?

But anyway someone please point to a trustworthy router that will have atleast one year warrant and is a 802.11G (54 mbps upstream), and not a netgear ?

I had a Linksys BEFSR41 - 4 port wired - It was ok and ran 24/7 but it needed to be reset occasionally. I used it for about 3 years and then I sold it. It's still working for the person I sold it to.

I now have - Linksys WRT54G - No problems yet after about 6 months contiuously on. Not even a reset.

does the WRT54G have a 3 year warranty?

edit: hey i heard they replaced their latest models with the v5, which has lower specs and not as good as the old models? what do you think?

Yes it has a 3 year warranty.

I don't really know all the differences between the version numbers. All I know is mine is v5 and I'm happy with it.

Note: I'm not using it wirelessly yet.

I have a befsx41 junksys router, and the only way I was able to make it stable was to use firmware from 2003 . It seems that junksys just gets worse as time goes by. You may want to look around at www.broadbandreports.com in the linksys hardware section, there may be some help for the router there. Thats where I got my router help.
