Thread: Router Problems.

  1. #1

    Question Mark

I have a router that I had forgotten the password for it. The router is a 3Com OfficeConnect Wireless Cable/DSL Gateway, model # 3CRWE51196. The problem I have is that once I'm done with the wizard, I can't go anywhere in the Router menu. It looks like it's going, but it just gives an error after a while. I tried closing the browser, and try to access the router again, but I get a loading error message. In the system tray this yellow box comes up saying there is a error or a limited connection. I tried ipconfig, and restarting, but it did not work. Below are the screen shots I took for each setting I had to enter. And yes I did get the guide and I followed it too.

    1st Setting.

    2nd Setting.

    3rd Setting.

    4th Setting.

    5th Setting.

    6th Setting.

    7th Setting.

    Final Message.

Have you tried unplugging the power to the router for a bit?
Maybe that will reset it to factory settings.

    And....dunno what you did,
but your DHCP service is disabled according to your last screenshot.
One of the previous shots had you enabling it....?

'Nother thought....if you're trying to connect wirelessly....
check to make sure the channel your PC is trying to connect to is the same one your router is broadcasting on.
I am just a worthless liar. I am just an imbecile.
I will only complicate you. Trust in me and fall as well.
I will find a center in you. I will chew it up and leave.
I will work to elevate you just enough to bring you down.

Those are just screenshots I got from the Guide. My pc is the the pc that the router is connected to by wire. Also the router doesn't reset once you take out the power I tried it.

Well....look into your documentation for this, as I'm not sure about your router,
but on my Belkin there's a reset button in the back.
Serves two functions, one is a quick restart of the router,
the other, if held for a certain amount of time, is to reset to factory defaults.

    -edit-
according to the user .pdf, there's a reset option under the "configuration" tab

Linksys has the same reset switch. Quick reset keeps settings and hold the reset for defaults.

Well thanks for all your help, but for some reason it worked after I restarted the computer again.
