I loved the Alan Partridge "Talk Shows" I thought they were seriously funny and inventive. The whole "Travel Lodge" thing just seemed a bit contrived. However it was worth it for two things ;
1. Smell my cheese.
2. You're a mentalist.

That series was OK, it was the series after that where it went downhill (he was living in a caravan next to his new house that was being built)
