Okay, I've always used BitComet as a client and 99% of the time used TorrentSpy as a tracker for the duration of my bi-torrent days. I had been reading a lot about how private trackers are faster so I decided to try SuperTorrents (it was the first invite I received). Coincidentally, SuperTorrents banned BitComet on the same day, so I downloaded uTorrent and I've been pleased with it in some respects, but the upload speeds are downright pathetic!

I downloaded the latest Family Guy about 24 hrs ago which took approx 30 minutes to download. I've been seeding it for about 18 hrs now and my ratio is .009 with this torrent. WTF?

I downloaded the latest LOST episode on Thursday of last week and I've been seeding it about 75% (approx 60 hrs.) of the time and only have a ratio of .195 with that one. WTF?

Why the heck is it taking so long to upload to at least a 1:1 ratio???

    Is it the trackers fault?

    Is it the Clients fault?

Is there a setting I'm missing and it's my fault?

Maybe there's very few peers to upload it to? I'm downloading something from Torrentleech right now, 180 kB/s down, 0 B/s up.

Only 2 leechers getting the exact same episode from SuperTorrents, whereas 22687 right now from TorrentSpy.

The average broadband connection uploads at 7-15kbs
I upgraded mine to a faster connection and now I normally get 50-60kb/s upload speed. Good enough for me.

    indeed
its much easier to seed on public trackers as the are many more unfair leechers/hit and runners
private sites are MUCH better seeded, and sometimes VERY difficult to upload at all, oink for example.
in alot of circumstances, there will be 100 seeders/10 leechers, and often u may not be 1 of the seeds that the leech connects to.

I used to love BitComet but a few private trackers seem to be blocking it

Azureus is always a good choice openSource, all ways being updated, never seen it blocked before

Although it is wrote in Java (ewwww), then agian java is good for working (slowly) on anything LOL!

You could just jump on newer torrents when seeders are few and there are more leechers.
