i thought it be a good idea would be to start up a new thread about the chemical name for most cdr's with colour then we can see which are the best, if a cd'r claims to be the best we can see of it uses the same dye as a cheaper frosted brand or non branded.

I used a program called smartburn to detect the brand etc, most of the time its not right but it does get the chemical dye correct all the time

does anyone know what type of chemicals the colored cd-r's use the one's with the black,yellow,purple,blue and red bottoms??? the reason i ask is my burner won't burn on them for some reason i get a data sense key error everytime i try to use them!

The colour might be the plastic of the disc itself, not the dye. If so it might be messin with your cdr's laser since its working as a colour filter.
