Mine is set to about 5gb, today when I disabled and renabled the application, It freed up close to 3 gigs! Is it recommended to set it low, to like 400MB instead of 5GB?

I personally don't use sys restore.
But, here's two things to consider:
Less = fewer restore points, and less = more drive storage for you to use.
It all depends on how much drive space you have, and how much you depend on system restore.
There really is no recommendation that is worth a squirt of piss,
other than disabling system restore altogether.
I am just a worthless liar. I am just an imbecile.
I will only complicate you. Trust in me and fall as well.
I will find a center in you. I will chew it up and leave.
I will work to elevate you just enough to bring you down.
yeah... and if your harddrive fails, its completely useless. Just make different partitions i guess, and dont screw around with the registry
How much space does one restore point use? I could deal with just setting one manually everytime I decide to install something or make a change...
