Hi, i'm having a slight problem with my Ram on pc. I originally have 1gb ram. In bios it shows as 512. I thought that one ram is damaged so i took one out and i tried it. then i just switched rams. it turned out that both rams were working. so why is it still showing as 512 of RAM.

More info about general setup required (such as mobo, memory type etc).
Generally though, when you only had 1 dimm inserted, was it always in the same slot. If so, try with one dimm in each slot in turn to check if you've got a faulty dimm slot.
