I just got back into gaming after having to put up with a shitty onboard card with my dell...
What is considered a good framerate to get smooth gaming? Particularily for oblivion.
btw, I have a 7600 GT now.

30fps is what you see on TV (NTSC) however, 60 fps should be the target. I honestly (in my opinion) don't think you need anything above 60 to enjoy smooth gaming, hell Halo was 30fps dont forget.
Jeff Loomis: He's so good, he doesn't need to be dead to have a tribute.
Usually 60 fps is supposed to be the ideal fps you want. 30FPS is supposed to be playable though. Anything 20 and below is simply annoying, even if the graphics are INSANELY awesome, its still just not as enjoyable. Well thats my opinion.
125fps

I always thought 60fps was the ideal number, I remember playing CS:Source at 30fps, and it ran just fine for me.
Now I get 60-70fps in CS:Source and it's even better, but 30fps was totally fine.
