I use both PG and Hide IP Platinum. PG blocks other IP's from pinging your IP and Hide IP Platinum hides your IP so even if they get through (maybe before a blocklist update) you'd have some protection.
Also, don't just use the 4 blocklists that come with PG but rather use both PG's and the internationally trusted bluetack and blocklist.org blocklists. Just add these to the list manager in Peer Guardian:
http://www.bluetack.co.uk/config/ads...nd-bad-pr0n.gz
http://www.bluetack.co.uk/config/edu.gz
http://www.bluetack.co.uk/config/level1.gz
http://www.bluetack.co.uk/config/spyware.gz
http://lists.blocklist.org/ads.7z
http://lists.blocklist.org/p2p.7z
http://lists.blocklist.org/edu.7z
http://lists.blocklist.org/gov.7z
http://lists.blocklist.org/spy.7z
This will give you a total of 13 blocklists. All updated equally.
For maximum protection choose the "block http" option on PG. If you are surfing and can't get to a site that you really want to get to then temporairily disable "block http" and then reactivate it after surfing.
