Everytime I set the screen resolution in Call of Duty 2 to anything like 1280 x 1024 or 1680 x 1050
and then close the game and reopen the game the resolution gets set back to
1280 x 768 in fact it seems like all the setting under the graphic option get set back to default. If I make the changes and stay in the game and play it will stay at the desired options.
I had the game working fine for along time But I recently formatted my hard drive and reinstalled windows XP and the game. I know I installed the Display Device driver, and I have the ATI RADEON® X600 256MB HYPERMEMORY

    Any Ideas?

Sounds like the config file is not saving... Go into the COD2 folder and delete your game name folder also search for SP and MP config files and delete them aswell... Once done go back into game and set your settings how you like and then exit and rerun game... This should create new config files and should fix your problem.

Why did you have to go and call my video card shetty, I was perfectly happy playing
my game ignorant of the fact that the card I was using was shetty.
Now I have to go out and buy a newer and better one…. Geee Thanks
the wife will just have to understand...right

    Anyway
For the most part it runs well at 1680x1050
However in some situation during game play it gets a little sluggish
    I normally play with 1280x1024.
What Video card would you suggest?

    Um right now, the 7600GT.

But, I have the X800GTO and I can barely run the game on 1280by1024, and I have to play 1024x768 if I want decent settings.

So with your X600, I would imagine 800x600 or 640x480 should be more suitable for you...Unless you have a godly processor and ram, I really doubt how you can run the game at even 1280x1024.

Try using DirectX7 not auto or directX9 and of course kill as many other programs as possible while playing, and you should be fine running at 1280X1024 or even higher

    T0TAL-RECALL:
Thanks that seemed to fix the problem
