Go to the Nvdia website and get the latest Detonator drivers for windows xp. They will work fine for your computer and there should be no need to erase any old files off of your system. The drivers in windows update are old versions.
It's always wise to remove previous drivers, especially if you are using the Nvidia Drivers.

@Crack_man,
The NFR will only remove nvidia related drivers files. Used it many times, no danger of system files being removed. Again it only hunts down Nvidia driver files and you have the option of saving a backup as well or direct delete.

If you have issues with the latest Detonator driver, work your way backwards from the archive link I provided, eventually you will find a driver suitable for your system. Unless of course it is a Compaq driver use only system, then you may have to take the suggestion from Nightwolf^.`.^

REPORT INFO:

I uninstalled it with add/remove in control panel and then restarted my computer,then I used NFR to remove files left over.
Then when I downloaded THIS DRIVER and installed it I got a error said that it has found a earlier driver or something like that and said that I could press yes and go (which wasnīt recommended ) OR press no and uninstall the earlier version which I HAD ALREADY done.
I didnīt care so I installed it anyway.
The default where it installed is this: "C:\NVIDIA\WinXP-2K\43.45" which I didnīt have so it created one.
Shoul I install it there or in the system folder?

Now the question is,is it normally that it would pop up that error thing which said that it has already found a earlier version which I had to uninstall and which I also did by the way??

And by the way,I didnīt had my antivirusprogram,KazaaLite or ANY other program running beside when installing it.
