Always assuming you haven't got more than 40GB on the partition, of course.

partition magic is a great tool for those kind of jobs... easy to use and powerful...
The easiest & most reliable imo is AME. See my sig.
my biggest problem is the drive i want to clone is divided into 3 partitions the c:\ is 48gig and the drive i want to clone it to is a 40gig.
Uh remove the partitions. Make 1 big partition then clone it. Then repartition.
