  1. #1

    Question Mark

    Hi folks,
I hv a problem about my divx files.I dont know when it happened but there is sth wrong.I cant delete or rename an avi file.It is always givin 'the file is in use, close the applications using the file'.I tried everything.I closed all applications.Restarted pc in safe mod.But none of them worked.I know that there are several programs to delete these kind of files but there must be an other solution.
    Any opinions ?

You might want to try and re-install Windows Media Player (if you use it),
and also all the Divx/xvid stuff.
You can do it one by one so you can isolate who's to blame.
Doing this has fixed my Pc from similar errors a few times.

    Use at your own risk

Does Clicking on a avi file=windows crashes
(Sorry"my Ass" explorer as to close blah blah)

    Then try

Start->Run, type in 'cmd' hit enter

    To remove media preview,

    type"regsvr32 /u shmedia.dll" and hit enter.
    (without the quote marks)

You will no longer be able to preview movies in views
    this will stop windows crashing.

    It worked for me

    IF it doesn't

    you can re-add media preview,
type "regsvr32 shmedia.dll" and hit enter
    (without the quote marks)
