But after a while speeds went up to 50kbs and sometimes its been up to 100kbs, which is what I get for torrents. Patience is key!

Yeah thats the problem with emule, but then, theres stuff you can only get there (rare stuff). If you dont need something rare you're really better off joining a torrent community.
