    RemoveWGA v.1.2 Released
    29 July 2006
    • Change Log:
    • Now uses the "RunOnce" registry entry instead of "Run" (starts sooner)
    • Added a clean removal procedure for the final WGA notification update
(The final WGA notification is now removed cleanly without any BSOD)
    • If every removal procedure fails (possibly for futur WGA versions), offers the brutal removal procedure

RemoveWGA enables you to remove the Microsoft "Windows Genuine Advantage Notifications" tool, which is calling home and connect to Microsoft servers every time you boot (pilot version), or every two weeks (current release). Futures updates of this notification tool will (officialy) setup the connection rate to once every two weeks.

This is interesting , never thought of that .

    Compatible : Windows XP (SP1/SP2)

(from many reports, the WGA notification does not install on Win2K/2K3. But it costs nothing to check yourself)
