When I'm using Bittorrent and I'm not getting a good speed, if I shut it down then re-start the torrent it gets much better.

Recent example. Getting about 55kB/S when downloading Prehistoric Park.

I close the torrent and immediately (few seconds) later restart it and get 294 kB/S. Why.

I am using Tornado and downloading the torrent files for re-start purposes.

might be your connecting to new seeds that have a higher upload speed giving you a higher download speed.

That makes sence, however if it were right then one would expect it to slow me down sometimes. It always seems to make me speed up.

    True now you've stumped me
I usualy find it's the opposite and I get faster speeds after a little while (i use uttorrent) but when I'm not connected to leachers that are uploading from me I somtimes restart my client and that connects me to new leachers so's I can boost my ratio
