Thread: New List of Great Guitarists

  1. #1

    Arrow

    Ok Guys,

Following on from Cpt Azads thread on your "greatest guitarists" it occured to me that I had not heard of half of them (I am 56 and used to be a muso in the 70's).

So I have compiled this list from the thread and would kindly ask you to fill in the gaps for me. I just need the band the guitarist is/was in and one or 2 songs that show off their best work.

Please keep the replies short and gentlemanly - this is just a "facts" thread and then I will update (edit the list as it develops) it.

Then we can all listen to some of these great songs !

    Regards

    Digby

no problem. i used to read guitar magazines way more often, not so much anymore.

it's very cool that you're still trying to learn new appreciation for lots of bands you have never heard of or even like. but skillz are skillz i guess.

Yes, people like you digby, are very hard to come by these days. The fact that you are giving it a shot and trying to appreciate the work of those that you have never heard of is very open-minded of you.

World could use people like that, not just for music, but for other things...

Iommi is deffinately at the top of my list. The five Black Sabbath albums are all full of staple guitar licks.
