    How do i figure out what server i gave got? and is there a authentication?

    It depends if your ISP provides you with a server. If so they should have it somewhere on their site.

    dont recommend using isp news-servers b/c of incompletes and retention..
    but to each his own..premium server are the way to go

    My ISP may only carry 50,000 groups (about half of what's out there) but that does include quite a few good binary ones and although the retention is only 4-5 days max, the excellent completion makes up for that.
