I just need to know how to write a cue.

can sombody help me out, I got a new file of Simcity4 but its a .img
and I cant extract it. I've tryed with winiso, winrar, winace, winzip. so I think I might need a cue to burn it

or if there is a way to extract the .img

What kind of info do you need to make a cue?

    This the File Info
    Sim City 4 cd1.img 554 MB

and this is the cue I tryed to use and didnt work.

FILE "Sim City 4 - img - Fr - CD" BINARY
    TRACK 1 MODE1/2352
    INDEX 1 00:00:00

U should be able to burn the image with nero, just set block size to 2352, and burn away

But if U'r interested in making a .cue file anyway, do this:

Write the following text in notepad, and save it with a .cue extension. Or use CDMage on your image, and it'll creat a .cue file for U

FILE "Place the image filename here (with the quotes)" BINARY
    TRACK 01 MODE1/2352
    INDEX 01 00:00:00
Don't forget about the indenting, U have to place "track" after 2 spaces, and "index" after 4, that's what U did wrong...and the filename has to be exactly as it really is, exactly.

Does it matter what the cue is called?

Then I a try to burn the image It needs a cue.. But everytime my the cue I have isnt working.

Is there another way to extract a .img file , There has to be a way to run it off my harddrive, what tools what I will need?

Which is wrong with one? This is the lastest one I've tried

FILE "Sim City 4 cd1 - img" BINARY
    TRACK 01 MODE1/2352
    INDEX 01 00:00:00

(the spaces are right, but not showing right on the post)

If u want to extract the image contents, use ISOBuster, or WinISO. And is the filename in U'r .cue file right? Souldan't it end with something like .img (not "- img")? And the .cue file can have any name, as long as it ends with .cue....

Also U might want to give Daemon Toolz a shot for running the game from U'r HD, but is shouldan't be necessary

i'm not sure but i believe .cue files are only used with .bin files
There are 10 types of people in the world those who understand binary and those who dont

Usually, .img files should come with a .sub and a .ccd files. And U would have to burn them with Clone CD. However I belive Nero is capable of burning .img files....if not, U'll have to look for the .sub and .ccd files...

If WinISO would not read the file, chances are it's bogus. Did you get it from a hash or by searching in Kazaa? Are you sure there's not a .ccd (CloneCD) file with the same name to go with it?
