    I think there ought to be a restriction in the quantity of characters available to a user, registering. I've seen some users with massive usernames (not naming anyone) which totally ruin the forum's layout by increasing the tables' width to fit their huge names. Or maybe it's just me .

    I can see your point, but the people who have longs names don't seem to post that often (or not that i've noticed) so it's not really a big deal

    actually, I have to agree, with only having a small monitor, it can be annoying, but i think its too much to ask of Paul/VB to check this as well

    I agree and think this is a good idea.

    It is annoying when you got a smaller monitor.

    I agree there should be a limit. Maybe 20 characters?

    Can the admins truncate his name by editing the database (like those silly Short File names with the ~1).

    yeah, there should be a limit. I reckon 7 should be max .

    But, seriously, 20 sounds right and it&#39;s true that long names are a nuisance and would be more tidy without them.

    At least have a good name (Nottingham )......
