    i connected my old hd to my new pc through usb 2.0 ide but my pc does not boot it up,what do i need to do?

    You connect ide and power cables to you old hdd, boot to windows and it doesn't appear?
    Tryed the bios to see if it's properly configured?

    What are you trying to do? What is your purpose of booting off the old HDD vs the new HDD?

    How comfortable are you with taking your old hard-drive out of your old PC, and putting it into your new PC as a second hard-drive?

    Oh. OK.

    You don't need to boot it up, don't even try, just boot up as normal, and then go into Explorer to access the files on the old hard-drive.

    Change the jumper on the old HDD to slave or cs or remove it.

    thats the problem the explorer does not show the second hd.but in the right bottom corner it says that a mass storage device is plugged in through usb.why doesnt it show up when i click on my computer?

    Whats that have to do with jumpers. Did you change them?

    Edit: Now I know. Besides the jumpers. Probably ME HDD is FAT32 & other is NTFS.
