I'm assuming you have all your anti-virus and spyware programs up to date ,perhaps it's an issue at your ISP. Have you contacted them ?

I know you have have a clean install as you bought a new computer ,but so little info to go on .Such as are you on a network , Cable or Dial up connection ?

    It's a dsl connection?
I had a similar problem and the cause was the SNR too low and the Attenuation too high
I'm far from the central and that is the problem so they lowered my speed and now it's rock stable.

It could be other things though...

Simple thing no ? We always blame our hardware tho and never ask the ISP to check their end ,Ive been guilty too but learned from my mistakes .
