Thread: lose internet connection

    i am having a problem with my internet.every 20 to 25 minutes my internet stops working through the browsers and it does not disconnect my frostwire connection.the internet does not reconnect for the browsers til after i restart.what can i do fix this problem?

    I'm assuming you have all your anti-virus and spyware programs up to date ,perhaps it's an issue at your ISP. Have you contacted them ?

    I know you have have a clean install as you bought a new computer ,but so little info to go on .Such as are you on a network , Cable or Dial up connection ?

    It's a dsl connection?
    I had a similar problem and the cause was the SNR too low and the Attenuation too high
    I'm far from the central and that is the problem so they lowered my speed and now it's rock stable.

    It could be other things though...

    Yep could be his Lan card is hooped or the Modem for that matter ,had the like problem a year ago it was frustrating thought I had a virus . Turned out to be my Router , but the ISP tec help is a good place to start we pay enough for the service let them help a bit .


    John has a new computer must be frustrating ,I know I'd check with them first .

    they had to re-register my modem

    Oh good I'm glad its fixed , Its nice you came back and gave the fix because other people might have had the same problem , and were redirected by Google to this forum .

    Its a way of contributing to this forum ,you get out of something what you put back in is what I'm trying to say ?

    Simple thing no ? We always blame our hardware tho and never ask the ISP to check their end ,Ive been guilty too but learned from my mistakes .
