    Question Mark

    Hey,
A certain site blocked my isp ip's & I can't log in (the site's admin said they not going 2 unblock it).
My account is still active & if I'm using a proxy I can log in.
    Is there a way 2 configure Azureus 2 use a proxy so I will b albe 2 download & upload ?
I tried several proxies in Azureus proxy options - in tracker comm. & peer comm. but I'm still getting an error.
maybe I didn't use the right proxy ?
    any suggestions ?

    not really.
u have to pay for a decent proxy that will allow u to download/upload alot at full speed.
free/public proxies will only let u browse the site.

    Hi mate

I have this problem once with bit**.org so, here is my experience in downloading with proxy

1- Proxy IP may be work for only 1 Hour or days so you have to chk that tracker status is ok in your AZ client

2- Always use proxy IP with port 80 or 8080 they are the fastest

3- Never use SOCKS proxy use only high\Anonymous HTTP proxies

4- Enable only proxying of tracker communications so that the tracker see your proxy IP and peers see your real IP for download and upload purpose, so you only report to the tracker through proxy

5- If you enable proxying of peer communications you will not be able to download or upload

6- Always hit save button and restart AZ

7- you will always appears to the tracker as unconnectable like when you have a NAT or firewall problem so don’t worry about it, as it will not affect your client report to tracker

This work with me fine for about 2 months before my account disabled for using proxy

That's right, that's the downside...depending on the site mods/admins, you'll get your account banned. Sites like W-B for example, if they detect something suspicious, it's the end.

As long as they arent a public proxie I dont think they would know it was a proxie anyways.

Mate they are all a public proxy other wise you have to pay a lot for proxy server

Only problem is that public proxies or anonymous proxies only show the proxy IP to the site. Example sct shows it everytime in your profile when you are leeching a torrent. But if the site you talk bout has client logs, it will show your real IP and then you are screwed.

If you're using a proxy to evade an IP ban from a tracker, you're only digging yourself a deeper hole.
