I just spent the last 20 hrs (12 yesterday, 8 today) at the office accomplishing absolutely....nothing!
All because everyone's problems are more important than everyone else's.
The IT profession is a grand one, indeed.
All of our billed time is overhead, and we don't need to show any sort of progress whatsoever to justify said time.
Because, at the end of the day, when someone comes and asks why their problems weren't addressed, our answer is simple:
"Because some asshole just like you came while I was in the middle of addressing your problem and assured me that, because he/she's an asshole just like you, his/her problems are more important than yours."
I love it.
