I assumed you meant that although many films are stop action, they tend to be small, indie films, don't get wide release and are not seen by the masses.

Watched Highlander (1986) yesterday.
First I have to say I'm biased since I grew up listening to Queen. So I thought the movie was great. Just 2 things that bothered me. Sean Connery will have to work on his spanish accent and the scenes with the Kurgan were too similar to those from the first Terminator movie.
6,9/10
I'm back. The downside is that I'm also old now.

took the camera d’Or prize at cannes and its probably the reason why I had to check it out.Very little dialogue but the acting makes up for that in telling this love story.Am not that much into film recommendations but if you got a taste for foreign then this one is a sure must get.Probably the best thing to come out of AU in a long time.
check out the trailer

The Informant!- Matt Damon.
Based on the true story of Mark Whitacre (Damon), the highest ranking corporate whistleblower in American history, The Informant! is a breezy look at corporate fraud and what the FBI will do to combat it.
A very successful VP in a little known but very powerful industry, Whitacre approaches the FBI and offers to help prove charges of worldwide price-fixing.
Problem is, he may have a personal agenda behind his seemingly altruistic offer.
The other, and far bigger, problem is that he may be crazy.
Matt Damon is the whole reason to see this film.
No Jason Bourne here...Damon gained a lot of weight for the role and is completely believable as a corporate drone with visions of grandeur.
Throughout the movie Whitacre's interior monologue is presented as a voice-over, much of it is outright hilarious even as it show's his increasing disconnect from reality.
Since the only version I could obtain was *cough* a cam, I can't comment on the cinematography or sound design other than to say that the soundtrack was oddly manic but ultimately quite apt.
Watch it to see Matt Damon give a good, if different, performance.

Hardware(1990) uncut .
A cult classic 90.s sci-fi spatterfest which after being hung up in legal limbo for years because of distribution rights recently became available on blu-ray/DVD in the previously ( in NA) uncut flirt with Xrated form.
Breath.
Like Terminator if envisioned by Clive Barker.Sex violence and cool music. With better production values it would compare well to staples of the genre.A few well known faces (Dylan McDermott) and a tough heroine to both root for and lust after.
The script though not amazing is at least unpredictable( as much as this type of movie allows ) which in itself is a welcome treat.
Anyone that has played Borderlands will see some distinct similarities to that as well.
I think anyone who appreciates a good dystopian movie and isn't put off by a little cheese a modicum of sex and a lot of violence would enjoy it.

I followed IdolEyes' suggestion (against my better judgement) and saw The Man Who Would be King.
I really enjoyed it. Why? Because it was serious and funny at the same time and it was an adventure. Not many movies are like that (I can only think of old Indy ones atm).
PS: Dude you sure don't suck at suggestions, it was just what I'd been looking for!

Pretty much anything with Michael Caine is a win.
