Just watched The Great Escape on tv.
Steve McQueen is cooler than ice, I'll tell ya that.
Seriously, a very good movie. Funny parts, serious ones, bike chases, airplane crashes and putting a whole new meaning to the phrase "being organised".
Wouldn't call it great, but very good. 7,5/10
I'm back. The downside is that I'm also old now.
Saw 6 is the best movie i ever see![]()
Smiley Face- Anna Faris.
A lightweight- some might say insubstantial- stoner film, worth watching for Faris' totally committed performance.
In the course of one day, Jane F's life goes from slacker paradise (occasional acting jobs and unemployment, seasoned with constant bong hits) to convicted felon on a road crew.
All because of a plate of cupcakes made by her creepy, skull fucking roommate, Danny Masterson (That 70's Show).
Not laugh out loud hilarious but sweetly amusing, just like Jane F.

"I am the one who knocks."- Heisenberg
Why, what made it "great"?
Franklyn- Eva Green, Ryan Philippe.
Touted as sci-fi/thriller, it's not really but I'm not sure what I'd call it.
Some beautiful visuals and stirring music though.
Four seemingly disparate stories- three set in modern London and one in a Dark City/Blade Runner-ish future dystopia called Meanwhile City- slowly entangle till a common element is revealed.
The viewer is essentially lost for the first 60 minutes as the four threads unravel, you suspect there is a commonality but it's hard to see what it might be. I found myself more drawn to the Meanwhile City storyline and was mildly irritated when the film cut back to the others but it becomes clearer what is going on and the three "normal" stories begin to make more sense.
Eva Green is fun to watch.
I'm conflicted about whether it's a good movie but it is interesting.

Le Diner de Cons Pierre is a rich editor who discovered a strange funny game. He and his friend are inviting "idiots" for dinner every week in order to hear their stories and have fun. The one that brings the dumbest is the winner. After an accident Pierre's choise become the star of the night
A fantastic comedy by Francis Veber (writer and director). Almost all of the is directed in a house but it's far than a boring movie. Francoi is definetely the star and I'm laughing by myself just remembering his face and his moves. An intelligent movie for me at least
8/10
