Question about private torrent sites?

I am yet to understand the advantages of privates sites. Take TV shows for example. Is it faster speeds/earlier releases/higher resolution? Would appreciate some clarification. Thanks.

Faster speeds and earlier releases are the reasons that private sites are better. Places like SCT are considered top places for "Scene" Releases. But for say, tv shows, rarity also helps out alot. Bitmetv probably has alot of tv shows that not everyone has seen or heard of so thats what makes a site like that good also.

Well yeah, I think the main advantage of private sites is definitely the speed.

The main advantage is definitely the lower chance of being contacted by your isp about copyright theft.

I agree. Less chances of being caught on private sites cause theres a whole lot less attention on them.

well, not exactly,
on p2p forums everybody is talking about private torrent sites, and i suppose they r better known than these open ones,

and u must take into consideration that they may be a rat already inside these private trackers and making his logs...
