Thread: Search for eMule files

  1. #1

    Unsure

    1)
What's the most effective way to find a particular thing?
How do you find a particular thing you want to download?

    2)
Should I use the in-built search provided by eMule? Reliable? What networks/servers does it search?

    3)
Apart from findhash.comfilehash.com, is there any other search sites available?
Do these search engines filter links to bad or infected files?
    Does findhash.comfilehash.com do the filtering?

    1) I normally use both global servers and KAD network searching with emule. sometimes I google for edk links. I also check out users filelist (if enabled) when the user has a certain type of file, maybe he has more of same. I also check out certain websites

    2) If you use global server search in emule , it will search on all available servers in your server list. the KAD network is a different network so search that too. there are bogus servers which corrupt your download but I have had no real problems with that but you can use peerguardian to filter out bad IPs.

    3) probably there is a filter in it because it will not show all files, only a few. I never use findhash search. I am not sure it will filter all infected files but infected files are bigger than the original so the hash number will be different than the original file.

findhash.com, shareprovider, shareheaven, sharereactor, goldesel etc are websites. not search engines

they provide a verified ed2k hash, which usually can be relied upon

    Oh, my bad!
    I intend to say filehash.com, not findhash.com.
This is an indexing and online search sites which allow me to search for various ed2k networks.

Is there any fake files in KAD network?
What websies list good and bad IPs in KAD networks?

But how could I know which one is the genuine original file (& its hash number)?

Do you know any search sites which index either a) ed2k links on different servers, b) ed2k links on verified hashlink sites only?

go to www.emugle.com, search for your item
take the ed2k link and paste it in the emule.

if you use MorphXT mod, go to Morph Update
and paste these links to your blanks
    first
    http://emulepawcio.sourceforge.net/n...akes/fakes.zip
    second
    http://emulepawcio.sourceforge.net/n...s/ipfilter.zip
    third
    http://ip-to-country.webhosting.info...ountry.csv.zip
    that should solve your problem...

Is it just copy and paste (and download it)?
Do I need to anything else to apply these files (so eMule will use it)?
