Hello all, I am new to newsgroups. I know what they are so don't woory about that. BUT, I am having trouble. I have access that I am paying for. I am using Xnews free client. When I got to a group, like alt.binaries.whatever it starts getting all the postings in that group, which for some is like a gig of data. takes forever. If I know the file I want to DL is in that group, is there any way I can go directly to queue that file instead of using a filter or? what is an nzb file? thanks!

Easy. Use the search button at the top of this page to find whatever media you want, post a thanks & d/l the .NZB file. click it to open yr newsreader (or associate the file with yr newsreader) connect & leech. Saves trawling thru terabytes of posts. Sooner or later you'll need a prog called Quickpar to repair corrupt archives. Go hard !

You could also search on sites like http://www.binsearch.info/ or others...
