Is their retention as bad a s I've heard it is. Go to last alive torrent and count 100 torrents from that. When is it from? I'm just curious.

    2009-11-28 23:10:59; Oldest alive torrent is from 2009-06-16 17:07:14.

Just throwing this out there. GFT is still miles ahead of other places in terms of picking up nearly EVERY scene release. For example, they remain the only tracker that (I know of) ever carried Dimension's 1080p Poultrygeist release. Not even SCC picked that one up. They are one of the very few trackers that upload non-scene stuff if requested/needed. For example, the latest major releases of photoshop are always constantly uploaded there, whereas most other places only ever upload crack fixes, or protection removals.

On the flip side, don't be surprised if GFT's notification area tells you that you are the last seed on a particular torrent. I'm the last seed on many a torrent, well usually until the system just deletes them for being too old (which the staff say is to help stabilize the server load). It's not surprising to find a release from a month ago that is deleted, or not seeded at all. The general consensus is, if you're on a 0day tracker, you're there for 0day material. If you want a content repository, find it elsewhere.

This is probably one of the best descriptions of GFT I have seen. It's a site for recent releases. I guess if you have FTN then you don't have any need for GFT, but a lot of pirates don't have FTN. I don't think having substandard retention is that big of deal. It's not like it's the only tracker out there. Get older torrents from somewhere else.

It's good for getting the latest stuff fast and not having a ratio requirement. That's all folks.

v2 of GFT can't come soon enough. The karma system needs a overhaul and the speeds havn't been great.
    Yet they pre basically everything.

GFT's retention is fine. If you look at some other sites such as SCC and TV torrents will die within a month, and GFT can often keep them just as long. Only thing is the autopruning which may be removed in 1.337?

O and do not join GFT for music, their race everything that is not in the music category, but they have many races that I have yet to see on others as stated.
