i heard that revolutions is going to be released sept/oct so as to avoid clashes with the likes of mr baggins and mr potter.

As you can see here, on this release date list, that would be incorrect. This list is updated constantly, and as of right now its still set for November. Matrix is rated R, thus distinguishing its audiance from potter quite a bit, and Return of the King is set for late November, so it shouldnt be much of a issue.

Release Date: November 5th, 2003 (wide)

Release Date Note: (4/13/03) Warner Bros. has bumped this film up two days from Friday, November 7th to Wednesday the 5th, essentially giving it a 5-day weekend.
