I'm sure Im not the only one to have downloaded a good song to find out it has built in static to discourage sharing of the song, is there any fix for this, or work around?

Just like you i'm quite new to this board, so maybe there are some things I don't know, but the only solution I found was to download it again from another user and hope like hell it hasn't been tampered with...

Look at the bitrate. Anything 128Kbps or greater should sound good.
(larger bitrate = more data = larger file size)
Different media players work better than others. The Kazaa mediaplayer just doesn't cut it. Try Windows mediaplayer, Winamp, Musicmatch, et al.
