    AOL SUCKS!

After very intermittant and slow internet access for the past 6 weeks, AOL finally admitted that they were having some "connectivity issues" in my area.
Then the service went out completely for almost 4 days!
When I finally got back on, my first e-mail was from AOL...a "customer satisfaction survey"!
Unfortunately, in my area the only option is Comcast, and they would rat me out to the RIAA/MPAA in a heartbeat.
With any luck my cable company will have my neighborhood ready by mid-June.
    Then it's bye-bye Time Warner!

    You're just figuring that out?

Why are you worrying about Comcast? They won't rat you out. They want/need your business.
Giving out your personal information is a legal issue that hasn't been resolved yet. And it won't be for some time.

with the exception of verizon being ordered to turn over the names of people accused of filesharing. but they fought to the death (and still are as i understand) to keep that information private. isp's dont want to rat people out. if they rat people out, they lose that money that makes their wallets so fat. so i really wouldnt worry about an isp ratting anyone out until sometime in the future
