The acting (apart from the guy who plays Agent Smith) sucked badly. The action was amazing but the story was just over-elaborate and pretentious.

I agree that the acting was also lackluster in this film...with some exceptions...I always enjoy Hugo Weavings Agent Smith character...and the Frenchmen was also rather entertaining. The problem was though, that the protagonists...were...well...boring. I have likes Keanu Reeves in some films...but in here he such a dry character...hes jsut going through the motions, and doesnt really seem to have any conviction. Carrie Ann-Moss (sp?) ...again...is a very lackluster character in this film. And Morpheus...I think Lawrence Fishbourne is a wonderful actor...and did a great job with the part in the first Matrix...but in this film he just wasnt given very much to work with.

It's nice to see that you people know what bad acting is...That speech made me laugh to the point of tears. I couldn't believe how cheesy that was. In retrospect, it wasn't even that necessary, either. Plus, I hated it when they would take the time to focus on a character who wasn't saying anything and was standing there making this weird "angry-serious" face (look for it - it's funny). Jada's is my favorite...hilarious. I appreciate the intricacy of the fight scenes and I like the attempts at philosophy, but the acting and some of those lines are just laughable. Oh well...They made a boatload of money and I'm sure there were a lot of people who enjoyed it much more than I did. Personally, I think LOTR is the best science fiction cinema we have so far in the 21st century. Thanks for all the super expensive eye candy, Hollywood. If the acting is bad, we can always fall back on that for at least some entertainment.

Look at the guy in the coma with Neo, and look at the Architect, see any similarities? Young architect, old architect ....I believe the guy in a coma IS the architect, but encoded himself in his youth, and so his failsafe would be to be there as well, as he stated it would be the end of the human race, and he needs humans, what would be the purpose of havin them plugged into the matrix if he didn't? He has grown tired of Neo and want's to stop him himself, ("Never send a boy to do a Man's job" so to speak), as all other's have failed to stop Neo from ruining his creation. I think there will be a showdown between the two.

I really enjoyed the film and thought it lived up to at least some of the hype. The Special FX and fight scenes especaly on the motorway way where very good and the plot left me wondering. The french man was very funny sending a cake to make that blonde bird have sex with him. And the two brothers who I think are a virus in the program were very good not a dissapointment for me

Actually they didnt make quite as much as they expected, and they surely didnt expect to get trounced their second week by Bruce Almighty...Id say this one will make 200 mil...tops.
