I just downloaded Norton Anti Virus and, of course it needs updating! Now, how do do that? By using the official upadating functionality ( Live Update )? Is that safe with ripped software? Or are they going to send a Stormtrooper squadron to my place and execute me? B)

if you had to register the software (i hope using fake info if you did) then using the live update feature will not be a problem. if you did not have to register it during install, take a look in the verifieds section and find a verified file there. then uninstall the old one and install the verified one (using fake info for the registration).

I used fake info, but I was wondering if it was enough... Wasn't sure if a fake name and fake e-mail address could fool them completely! Well, I'll just have to take my chance, as we all do here...
Thanks anyway!

it doesnt matter what info you entered as long as the registration went through successfully, its safe to do a live update
