We all seem to be saying we prefer one brand or another as if we buy a hard drive each week ! The way file sizes are going up !

Well I seem to be buying one a year at least as I have 2 computers (soon to be three) with 2 drives in each. I am obsessed with doing backups.

Soon it will be like going to McDonalds - would you like a hard drive with that ?

    Regards

    Some of us do.
In fact, I'd estimate that I replace ten drives a week on average.
The shop stocks Seagate exclusively and except for a dalliance with WD Raptors, Seagates are all I've ever used in Sprocket.
She is currently sporting two 250's in RAID0, a 500GB for storage plus the external Vantec containing another 250.
All drives are SATA2, perpendicular recording w/ 8MB cache and I couldn't be happier.

Obviously, this is still not enough drives to form a statistically valid sample but my high regard for Seagate is based on more than just one or two personally owned units. VB and Lynx have more experience than the average bear as well- I'm pretty sure VB runs Seagates, not sure about the big cat.
