Absolutely. I can identify fungus at a thousand paces, and have walked most of the South West coast path. I've scars on my hands from velvet swimming crabs pinching me when I've been showing them to the public, and scars on my arse from slipping on barnacle-encrusted rocks. I can tell what species a tree is from it's buds or bark, and I thrive on wide open spaces devoid of manmade structures. It still doesn't change the fact that I'm allergic to the outdoors.

I'm also allergic to a hell of a lot of foodstuffs but it doesn't mean I'll stop eating.

    That really is a bummer.

It is perhaps fortunate, given your current employment status that you appear not to be allergic to wine.

How did it work out with the knee thing BTW. Are you a total gimp or can it be mended.

It's alright. I'm used to the sneezing. I just become a snotty monster rather than avoiding the outdoors.

They're giving it six weeks to see if it can repair itself adequatly. If not I'm getting a small op to take away the ripped bits of cartilage which are catching on the bones.

I think I might be allergic to wine. Sometimes it gives me a headache!

I may also be allergic to t'Apple.

Sounds like a decent prognosis on the knee thing. However can I be so bold as to give you a wee bit of advice - do what the Doctor tells you. If you don't you will hopefully have 40 or 50 years wishing you had. Rather than a couple of months inconvenience just now.

    You know it makes sence.

Thanks and I understand. I'm really gutted about it because I love walking and take my knees seriously, and I just want it to get better and to be able to even go to the cornershop without it being painful, and I really dont want to compromise my future health because of stubborness now. So it's walking with a crutch for the next six weeks, and then we'll see. At least now I get sick pay if I do have to take time off. And the ability to trip up xmas shoppers, poke cheese and the cat, and hook things which are out of arms reach.

    Every cloud and so forth.

If you get too depressed you could always crutch Chebus in the crotch. That would be funny on so many levels.
