my hard drive is making funny noises, so it looks like a reformat for me shortly.

I agree, Im neva going to update my XP again using the microsoft updates. I updated and windows just kept refreshing my desktop for some reason. You shouldnt really have to use those updates any way, nothing wrong with XP Pro edition. Im about to try Longhorn wish me luck

no its still fooked and i cant killdisk it doing me head in.
i think i just take it back.
