Thread: Firewire Card

    I want to transfer my video (camcorder) movies on computer and burn CD.
    Which firewire card is better as well as cheaper?
    Is it possible to capture personel videos in real time?
    One of my friend told me that there will always be a jurk in movie?

    Need Help Please........

    well i dont no much bout firewire.....

    i do no that its faster than USB1.1 (12MB/s) and i think even faster than USB2 (480MB/s) but both speeds r fast enough 4 xcelent quality video in real time.......... ur camra has 2 support it though.......

    yeah, you have to sign up, but its worth it

    Yeah, if you camera is firewire capable, use it. It is the fastest way of transferring data(although it is comparable to USB 2.0). Firewire is just more common right now.

    Any firewire(IEEE 1394) card will work. It's a standard protocol.

    Many more chances for error if capturing in real time. Best to buffer it.

    Fast processor, a lot of memory and a large harddrive are neccessities.
