This has affected numerous Asian networks that connect to Japan, Taiwan, USA and Europe. SeaMeWe 3 (South East Asia Middle East Western Europe 3) and APCN2 (Asia Pacific Cable Network 2) undersea cables are damaged. ETR report (Expected Time to Restore) is not announced yet by the affected network carriers while in the news it is reported that the underwater cables will take 2-3 weeks to be restored.
We may have the option to change datacentre, but since we are a global site, moving from one location to another may benefit some, while disadvantaging others, so I think it is best we stay as we are at the moment.
