im getting an error when i open any avi : Cannot read video data. No suitable video decompressor is available, then i hit ok and it says: the file "c/..." does not exist or cannot be read. please check the filename and access privileges.
i have K-Lite Mega Codec Pack 1.62 installed

whenever I have problems I always install the latest codec pack. I use the full version, which is v2.81 now. Since you're at the latest already, reinstall and browse through all the options during the install. Maybe there are things you need that are unticked by default.

i had them both installed...
K-Lite Mega Codec Pack 1.62
K-Lite Codec Pack 2.81
uninstalled both.

make a little animated .gif using the animated avatar guide. its still showing same error, ive given up installing - uninstalling - installing again, im just going round in circles all day
