leo kottke is great
you might like Keller Williams
or Micheal Hedges
and perhaps Charlie Hunter (plays bass and guitar at the same time on a 8 string he invented)
cheers!
I do like Michael Hedges!

Gotta check on Keller Williams.

Have heard a bit of Hunter; what do you recommend?

i would try the album "duo" its him and leon parker live off the floor....its hard to beleive that only 2 people can make that much music
and also for a fuller funkier sound try the album "Songs from an Analog Playground"

As for Keller Williams he is amazing!! especially live
he plays a ten string
also he uses live loops on stage (crazy)
also he is a master of the "beat box" and "Mouthed Flugel"(mouthed trumpet)
his new studio album "Laugh" is pretty damn good

As for ...(live)..... tracks you should try
Vacate **!!!
Moon Dance
Kidney in a cooler
Sideways Trees
Best Feeling
Brunette
Theme From Pink Panther

i think you'll be impressed

Check out Charlie Hunter's album Bing Bing Bing. Or better yet, if you ever get the chance go see him live. You will be dumbfounded. The man has alien fingers.

Some of my favorites: Stevie Ray Vaughn, Warren Haynes (Allman Bros/Govt Mule), Mark Ford (used to be in the Black Crowes), John Schofield, Eddie Van Halen, Skunk Baxter (Steely Dan and the Doobie Bros), Walter Becker (Steely Dan), Jerry Garcia (especially his acoustic stuff), Kim Thayil (Soundgarden), and about 100 others.

J2,

Why haven't you brought in Monte Montegomery? I think he's one of the most interesting ( as opposed to technically proficient) guitar players I've heard in a long time.
