[quote=chip19;1653323]Is it MPEG-1, MPEG-2, or MPEG-4?

If MPEG-1 or MPEG-2, I would use TMPGEnc. It is the most powerful MPG encoder available, and you can make custom settings to support whatever resolution, bitrate, and resolutions that are required by your media player (as opposed to using the templates which are for DVD or VCD players).

If there was any useful documentation on this player I could answer your question. I was hoping someone more MP3 player savvy than me had owned and figured out the RCA M5002 'cause I don't have the experience or patience to try every combination of format and resolution available just to watch stuff on a 1.8" screen!

Thanks for all of the replies to the OP and/or me.
