Sound Recording Software Question

Does anybody know how i can record all of the sound that comes out of my speakers for long lengths of time such as 30 minutes in very good quality sound to a mp3 file or something else which i can then burn onto CDR.

1. get a cable with 1/8 stereo phono jacks on either end.
2. connect to the "speaker out" and "audio in" jacks on your PC.
3. record using 3rd party software(e.g. musicmatch)

Get Total Recorder ....it will record at CD quality and higher any sound that goes through your sound card.
