Tomorrow when I go and pick my new HD,
I would also like to get This new Sound Card, you know, something cheap to get started on the upgrade culture.
I understand, or think, that the card is a PCI,
but I remember PCI being a little different, so to make things short,
can I use the card in the first picture,
if my mboard has the Slots in the second pic?

The card you can almost see at the top of the pic,
    is my ATI All-In-Wonder 9600.

Yes. That is a PCI card and those are 2 empty PCI slots.

Lol.... you make my question sound even more stupid than
it did in my mind .

Its just that the small differences in the Card's connection got me thinking.
    Anyway,
    as always, thanks man.

And reconnect the internal speaker wire, then you'll know when it stops performing POST.
    .
Political correctness is based on the principle that it's possible to pick up a turd by the clean end.

... there are a bunch of lose cables and connectors that I don't even know
    what they are for.

and I already got the Card, from Frys.
but it turned out that I wasn't able to connect it to my Home Theater.... damn it .
But my brother has a five year old 5.1 capable system,
and it does have the needed connections so we hooked it up and tried it,
geez, I love the things I can do with the card,
the set up was super easy, it went very fast and smooth,
and once done this, I played some of my HR TV Shows and x264, the audio quality is great, and also the mp3 upmixing is pretty good.
now I just ahve to get a Optical connection adapter, to get it to work with my HT,
    wich is the whole idea.

From your picture of the sound card,i dun see an optical out connection, how you are going to connect it to your home theatre system. There is no point in getting an adapter as the digital sound has already been converted to analog. IMO,i think you just made a very bad buying decision. If your purpose is just to watch dolby digital and dts movies, just buy any sound card with a digital out connection and let the amplifier do the job of decoding the sound. If you want to have good music also, buy a sound card wit digital out connection, but with a decent SNR value.
